On May 21, 2007, after decades operating from a converted dairy farm on Sherman Way, the staff of the East Valley Animal Shelter moved to new quarters on Vanownen Street. East Valley is one of the busiest facilities in the Department. Now we will be welcoming San Fernando Valley residents to a beautiful new facility with lavish landscaping, many trees, and relaxing fountains. The new facility has 165 dog kennels, and features the largest community room of our new shelter system.This shelter is filled with companion animals who desperately need safe and loving homes, fosters and volunteers.
