Keep Your Cat Indoors
According to the Los Angeles Municipal Code, cats may roam outdoors, and they may even they go off your property if they are spayed and neutered. But your cat's health and safety will be much better protected if he or she lives indoors. LA Animal Services joins with many humane organizations and animal rescue groups to urge cat owners to keep your cats indoors.

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)
The LA Animal Services Department and the LA Animal Services Commission generally support the concept of a trap, neuter, return (TNR) program to stabilize feral cat populations by reducing birth rates and improving the overall health of feral cat colonies. A City TNR program cannot be implemented however, until after the City complies with CEQA, the California Environmental Quality Act. The LA Animal Services Department has been working to define the scope of the proposed project and arrange for the preparation of the proper CEQA clearance.
