The Paula Kent Meehan Pet Care Foundation is sponsoring the Basic Black adoption weekend event happening at all six LA Animal Services Centers on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14. During the Basic Black weekend, the adoption fees for dogs with primarily black fur will be as follows:

  • Dogs: $51
  • Puppies: $75
  • Cats: $12.50
  • Kittens: $25

Furry friends adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped, and adopters receive a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are also eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA. Contact Info@pawsforlifek9.org for more details.

Consider Fostering if You Can't Adopt

When you foster a canine buddy or feline friend, you're providing a temporary staycation away from the shelter where they can decompress and experience a home setting, get additional socialization, show off their personalities, and get them ready to get adopted faster!
