Curious about rental properties and pets? Have you ever wondered if it is legal for tenants to pay a pet fee for a service animal in their rental unit? Or, what do landlords have to consider when a tenant makes a reasonable accommodation request for their disability?  

The Los Angeles Housing Department will host LA Animal Services and the Housing Rights Center to discuss what you need to know about pets in rental units in the City of Los Angeles. The webinar will also include information regarding the City’s new ordinance, which provides eviction protection to tenants who brought pets into their units due to COVID-19.

  • LA Animal Services will share information on the benefits and resources available to pet owning tenants, landlords and those interested in bringing a furry friend home.
  • The Housing Rights Center will discuss federal and state fair housing laws, emphasizing learning more about disability accommodations for service and support animals.
