On Saturday, May 13th, LA Animal Services along with 30 other shelters across the country will host a Playgroup Rockstars Adoption Event. This will focus on dogs who have participated in ongoing socialization and playgroup activities. Adoption fees are waived for dogs at all six LA Animal Services Centers on Saturday, May 13th. Adopters are responsible for the $20 dog license.

When: Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Where: Chesterfield Square/South LA Animal Services Center and the East Valley Animal Services Center

The purpose of playgroups is to get more dogs out of their kennels and to socialize with other dogs, to decrease their length of stay, increase their potential to be adopted, and identify possible training modifications to help dogs have a better quality of life in both the shelter and its future home.

The Playgroup Rock Stars Adoption Event will showcase sociable dogs in a play yard setting. The public, as well as rescue partners, are invited to watch adoptable dogs enjoy their time in playgroups that will be happening throughout the day. Potential adopters can better identify and connect with dogs as they enjoy their time outside of a kennel setting.
