LA Animal Services is proud to participate in the annual Clear the Shelter Campaign, a month-long campaign sponsored by NBC/Telemundo. With more than 1,800 furry friends in our six shelters available to adopt, LA Animal Services is offering $20 adoption fees for dogs and puppies, excluding the $20 dog license fee for LA City residents; and waived adoption fees for cats and kittens thanks to our friends from the ASPCA. 

August 1- 15: Clear the Shelters with adoption fees sponsored by ASPCA

  • Dogs and puppies: $20, excluding the $20 dog license fee for LA City residents
  • Cats and Kittens: Adoption fees waived

August 16-17: Biggies & Meow Meows: Reduced adoption fees for dogs over 40 lbs., sponsored by the Pet Care Foundation

  • Dogs: $51
  • Puppies: $75
  • Kittens: $25
  • Cats: $12.50

August 18-31: Clear the Shelters with adoption fees sponsored by ASPCA

  • Dogs and puppies: $20, excluding the $20 dog license fee for LA City residents
  • Cats and Kittens: Adoption fees waived

Furry friends adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped, and adopters receive a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow-up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are also eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA. Shelter operating hours: Tuesday through Friday: 8am to 5pm; Saturday and Sunday: 11am to 5pm. Closed on Mondays and City-observed holidays.
