Reduced Fees Across all Six Centers

During the Bye Bye July Adoption Event

Los Angeles, July 28, 2023 – With July coming to a close, it’s the perfect time to bring a new friend home with reduced adoption fees across all six LA Animal Services Centers this weekend. Stop by on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 when adoption fees will be reduced for dogs ($51), puppies ($75), cats ($12.50), and kittens ($25).

“July may be coming to a close, but it’s still a great summer to adopt a new family pet,” said Staycee Dains, General Manager for LA Animal Services. “Our six animal resource centers are filled with wonderful pets waiting to meet you during our Bye Bye July Adoption Event.”

Adopt a Pet Today

Dogs and cats adopted from LA Animal Services join their new families already spayed or neutered, vaccinated, licensed, and microchipped. Adopters also will receive a Petco flyer with discounts to help make their pet adoption a success; and a VCA Healthy Start Certificate, which provides up to $250 of follow up veterinary care within the first 14 days of adoption. In addition, canine companions adopted from LA Animal Services are also eligible for free dog training classes at the Paws for Life K9 Rescue People & Pet Innovation Center in Mission Hills, CA. Can’t Adopt - You Can Still Get Involved

  • Shelter-at-Home enables a community member to provide temporary housing for a lost pet while placing  flyers in their neighborhood and/or posting the pet’s info on social media, e.g. Petco Love Lost, Nextdoor, LA Animal Services Lost and Found Facebook page, and Pawboost will help them get home to their families.
  • Home-to-Home is a resource to help pet owners find a new home for their furry friend without taking them to a shelter.
  • Donate and make a difference to help the pets in LA.
  • Be a part of our Share Squad and get the word out to help LA animals find homes and create more awareness on how to keep animals safe and healthy.
  • Share posts of pets available for adoption on FacebookInstagramTwitter, and Nextdoor.
  • Volunteer and make a difference in the lives of animals in our care.

Alternatives to Surrendering a Pet

Please reconsider surrendering your pet to a shelter as our six Animal Services Centers continue to operate at critical capacity. LA Animal Services offers alternative solutions to help keep pets and families together, that include Safety Net Foster, Home to Home, Pet Food Pantry, and helpful resource guides. We also work closely with intervention groups who will provide assistance with pet retention. If relinquishing your pet is the only option, appointments are required by calling 888-452-7381. Sick or injured animals will be admitted without an appointment.
